2023 Turkey Cup Tournament

Congratulations to TEAM INTER for beating Black Mambas 5-1 in the final and winning the inaugural Turkey Cup.

The first annual RSM Arena Soccer Turkey Cup will take place on Saturday November 25th. Participating teams, schedules, and tournament rules are below.

Tournament Format & Rules

The 2023 Turkey Cup is scheduled for Saturday November 25th at the RSM Arena.  Teams must have a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 12 players on their roster.  

Games will be 40 minutes  long with two 20 minute running clock halves and free substitution.  All teams will be guaranteed a minimum of 3 games and winners will receive T-shirts and a team trophy.  Games are scheduled closely together due to time constraints.  The game clock will start at the scheduled time, teams need to be there on time and ready to play when scheduled.  Sunday League arena rules will be used for the tournament.  Rules of the game are listed on the website.

Only players on your final roster will be eligible to play in the tournament.  Final rosters must be submitted no later than Thursday 11/23.  Rostered players MUST play in at least one of the teams pool play games to be eligible for the semi finals and the championship game.  

The format will be two Pools, A and B, with three teams randomly assigned to each pool.  Pool A teams will play the other teams in their pool while Pool B plays the other teams in their pool.  The winner of Pool A will play the 2nd place team from Pool B in one semi final and the winner of Pool B will play the 2nd place team from Pool A in the other semi final.  The two 3rd place teams will play in a consolation game.  The winners of the 2 semi finals will meet in the championship game.

All pool play games may end in a tie.  For the semifinals a game that is tied will go directly to penalty kicks.  For the finals if the game is tied it will go to an 8 minute golden goal overtime period.  If still tied the final will then go to penalty kicks.

In pool play points will be awarded as follows:

Win = 3 points

Tie = 1 point

Loss = 0 points

If teams are tied on points after pool play ties will be decided by:

  1. Head to Head
  2. Goal Differential
  3. Goals Allowed
  4. Goals Scored
